The nomination process for the 2023 Trekzone Fan Film Awards were completed last night, all nineteen categories have four nominations plus two alternates should any nominee decline their nomination, or we can’t get hold of them.
It was not an easy process as there are so many good fan films out there and almost every hour set aside to work on the nominations was needed.
It felt like the Indy 500 Bump Day, you run a fan film through its paces and think yes, this one is in and then you go to another one and think that’s in and soon you got four and you work on the alternates and think maybe one of those is in but I believe the final choices are perfect and no different outcome could be done.
Last night Matt Miller got the list of nominations and was satisfied with them all so no late changes were required and it was putting my feet up time.
Matt this morning hit the ground running and sent out messages to all the fan film makers who got a nomination to get their OK and to ask them to please don’t tell everyone they’ve been nominated.
Next Saturday is the announcement of the nominees, nobody knows who is going to win the awards because it hasn’t been determined yet, that process can only start when we have our nominees locked in.
When July 10 comes around it will be a wonderful thirteen months putting the awards together and we’ve already started on the 2024 awards as fan films have been eligible since May 16 for that one.
I hope you will all enjoy the ride over the next month.
Until next time, be good to each other.
