June 10, 2023

The big news of this week naturally is that today we got to unveil the nominations for the 2023 Trekzone Fan Film Awards.

We had a bit of a rough week coming to this point, but we weathered the storm and now we feel pretty good about everything.

I believe that the nominations were perfect and could not have been changed in any way, everybody deserved to be there, and the alternates who didn’t get called up were unlucky to miss out, but they deserved the opportunity to be waiting in the wings in the event that somebody said no as they were just as good as those who were in.

This year we casted the net wide to try and get the biggest mix of fan films yet, it is easy to forget non-English fan films but this year we didn’t forget, we went for fan films that told interesting stories and went for fan films that also had their own style with Star Trek, we went for stories that involved the young and the older, it is a great mix.

Nominee reaction is the greatest thing, it is always good to see joy, that’s the fun of it all, it is worth every hour of work and every bit of expense.

Here’s a film that will be looked at for the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards, “Red Sea” by Chris Lea is another great action fan film made by Chris, he really does the space combat well and enriches Star Trek history too as it is fresh ground.

Meanwhile Matt is continuing to play Star Trek Resurgence, lucky fella which reminds me to go to EB Games and buy the Prodigy game while it is still almost 50% off, Matt has released four videos of Resurgence gameplay and doesn’t it make you intrigued? a game that offers so many paths, if all done right, it is fantastic.

So, it has been a good week overall, there’s no rain on our parade today, so get your groove on around your house and have some fun.

Until next time, be good to each other.
