Nine days to go until the 2023 Trekzone Fan Film Awards, it is pleasing to say that we’ve encountered no further problems, so we are quite confident that it is smooth sailing to awards day.
Everything is pretty much in Matt’s hands now; he has all the technical stuff to do and all I got to do is read the show’s rundown and make sure nothing important is forgotten.
The Romulan War has a new teaser out, it is titled ‘Final Entry’, The Romulan War has been on the slow burner, but it does happen as some fan films don’t have the resources to push out a fan film in a hurry and it takes time to gather the resources especially if you have to pay somebody for VFX etc.
Star Trek games are 20 to 25% off on GOG and mostly 20% off on Steam though Bridge Crew is 60% off and Prodigy is 65% off on Steam.
In Australia, you can pick up the Prodigy game at EB Games for $19 new on PS5 or Switch, I brought the PS5 version yesterday and I am satisfied with it, having the full cast makes the game cool and it is nice to walk on the Protostar.
If you like Away Team, you’ll have no problems playing the Prodigy game because it is much like the game only with a smaller amount of team members to pick through (and bigger characters).
Prodigy fans are campaigning for the saving of Prodigy with 24,900 signatures gathered so far, saving show efforts don’t usually work but there’s always hope, there’s even a new Fan Film with the Protostar in it.
Speaking of gaming, Matt is up to Video #8 on his series about Star Trek: Resurgence, watching these videos can save somebody the expense of buying the game or it can make them rush out to buy the game because they want to play it too and have their own experiences.
Perhaps one of the strangest things going on in the fan film world is the dialogue between AxaMonitor (close to 1,200 people) and The Real Truth About Axanar (close to 200 people), as AxaMonitor members are seemingly not allowed into TRTAA, they screenshot and discuss TRTAA topics in AxaMonitor and TRTAA does the exact same thing with what AxaMonitor members are doing.
Topics on AxaMonitor’s FB group go from serious to comedy with tinges of nastiness, somebody posts something they think is funny and everybody rushes to try and top it and the seriousness gets lost in the shuffle, how can you convince somebody that Axanar is bad news if all that people see is attempts at comedy with bits of nastiness? How does TRTAA convince people that AM are liars when it their topics descends into nastiness?
That’s the news for this week, always good when plenty of news happens.
Until next time, be good to each other.
