Monday was the 2023 Trekzone Fan Film Awards, it was a beautiful day, there were a few hitches but that’s live broadcasting for you and I didn’t get called off the bench to everybody’s relief.

Nine different productions shared the nineteen awards with 359 being the most successful with five awards.

359 – 5
Next in Line – 3
Potemkin Pictures – 2
Starfleet Legends Act II – 2
Star Trek Sirius – 2
Resistance – 2
FSFilm – 1
Chaos at the Neutral Zone – 1
Commanders of Starfleet – 1

Thank you for the nice posts on social media about the awards, we are pleased that you are pleased about what had taken place, your happiness was the important thing about the awards, everybody having a good time.

MTM is continuing on, fan film reporting will be focused on a small number of fan films and how things are done will be 100% independent.

Farragut Forward have posted an update, this is going to be one interesting fan film and it is a heavyweight as they got their majority bridge and a big cast and lots of money thrown in, much more than the average fan film but it is made by people with a great track record, they never have problems so there’s great assurance that they’ll hit their marks.

“Where Monsters Dwell” will be hitting two-thousand views today, it is always good to see a fan film doing well, if you haven’t seen it yet, do so.

“The Castaway” is 257 views away from reaching the 10,000-view milestone, it will be a well-deserved milestone for the fan film and could be reached any time now.

“Next in Line” recently passed 2,500 views, a good result for the winners of three Trekzone Fan Film Awards.

Thank you for the big interest in Chuck’s Star Trek Fan Film Reviews, it was created a couple of years ago and it is a hobby of a hobby, a bit of fun and sometimes people looking for Star Trek Continues or New Voyages come by, but it is there, and I am happy with that.

Site visits are nice, MTM on a good year gets an average of about one per day but it isn’t the end of the world if there’s a few days or weeks without anybody coming through the doors, I just like to write, it is up to the world what they want to do with it like if they want to share it on many Facebook groups etc.

At the end of the year there will be a list published, it will involve fan films that were released in 2023, it will be different to the Trekzone Fan Film Awards, there’s no awards, no nominations, no prizes, just a list published, it will be kind of like an All-Madden or All-American list with fan films going in their respective slots.

The latest episode of Strange New Worlds “Charades” was interesting, actually thought it was quite humorous the lengths the crew went to hide Spock’s problem (not saying what in case you have not seen it) and if a show can make you laugh without prompting (laugh track) then you know it is good quality.

I did briefly observe on Twitter this week that people who were once calmed by Picard Season 3 are now back to being angry about Star Trek, including Strange New Worlds Season 2, let a show try and entertain you, don’t spend your 45 minutes or so looking at it with a microscope and comparing it to something in the past.

Most people are probably angry because it gets them attention or income, anger about something sells, just look at the change in political styles around the world, Presidents and Prime Ministers, general Politicians used to be nice, now they make things personal and that gives them more airtime, more attention compared to just being nice.

That’s all the news for this week, a good week overall.

Until next time, be good to each other.
