Welcome to the first edition of MTM Wrap for 2024, what a big week it has been.

There are 186 days to go until the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards is held in the usually sunny Australian state of Queensland, the date is July 10, July 10 is apparently also National Pina Colada Day.

‘The Best of 2023 List’ was launched last Sunday to celebrate the end of a big year; we were lucky people to have seen so many great fan films in 2023 and MTM and Trekzone will be reporting about plenty more in 2024.

We’ve had over 75 reads for the written version of the ‘Best of 2023 List’ and over 150 views for the video version, we thank you for spending time at both.

‘Can’t Stop’ has made its way past 15,000 views, it has left all of FSFilm’s past efforts far behind in terms of viewing numbers, hopefully those who checked out ‘Can’t Stop’ will go see the others as they are great fan films to watch.

Potemkin Pictures announced that they will not be doing any fundraising for their fan films in 2024 and also expressed some concerns which doesn’t sound that bad, unfortunately the turd hit the fan when Randy Landers posted the announcement in Fan Film Forum which quickly led to claims that he was ‘disparaging’ fan films with his thoughts and things went wild from there with Potemkin Pictures changing who they are associating with in the future.

We do have some good news, Potemkin Pictures have given their fans a status report on upcoming productions, there is plenty in the pipeline in 2024 and we will be covering them all here and reviewing them on Chuck’s Star Trek Fan Film Reviews.

Things are getting nastier in Axanar land, post totals in The Real Truth About Axanar and AxaMonitor are climbing, and the content is getting more disturbing.

What has caused this flare up? former Axanar directors Robert Meyer Burnett and Paul Jenkins done another Robservations after the first one got knocked down, this time they didn’t show videos of Alec Peters’ being deposed and focused on Axanar financial records, instead of looking a summary of costs, they looked at purchases and highlighted purchases that did not make the records given to CBS.

You can decide for yourself if they are telling facts by going to stoptoxicfandom.com and view the files yourself at ‘Info for Axanar Donors’ and follow their reasoning and see if it comes to the same conclusion.

So, this inspired posts to be made which inspired counter posts to be made and it has been hammer and tongs since then.

The Paul Jenkins fundraiser is currently at $20,725, it has slowed down quite a bit since the Christmas/New Years period of time.

Meanwhile Axanar released Behind the Scenes footage of the fan film that is expected to premiere in the Summer of 2024 in the United States. (Winter for the Southern Hemisphere).

That’s the news and views for this week, thank you for being here for this opening edition of 2024 and we look forward to seeing you here over the course of the year.

Until next time, be good to each other.
