There are 165 days to go until the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards are here, work on the lists of fan films and various positions like directors, editors etc. are well underway to make the nomination process as smooth as possible.

It is so far away yet it feels so close, there is great excitement about these awards and hopefully fan films like Loreley’s ‘Monster’ and the latest Euderion -Infinity- fan film will be released in time for consideration.

Chris Lea’s ‘Indiana’ was launched this morning, fans of Chris’ work will not be disappointed by this new five-minute fan film.

Gary Graham passed away earlier this week; Star Trek fans are saddened by the loss of the actor who first guested on Voyager before he brought something great to Enterprise whenever he appeared as Soval, he also appeared in four fan film productions (Of Gods and Men, Renegades, Prelude to Axanar and Axanar’s upcoming two parts).

There will be delays at Trekzone for a bit of time as Matt Miller is busy helping cover Australia’s many sporting events so fans will have to have for their favourites like A Trekzone Conversation, The Trekzone Breakdown and the popular science news sections.

Neutral Zone Studios is doing Valentine’s Open House on February 17-18, there is no admission fee, but they are hoping that you’ll donate $20, it is not mandatory to do so.

Axanar fighting has calmed down in recent days which is good, meanwhile the Paul Jenkins fundraiser has stalled out at $22,205 as the legal battles resume next month.

That’s the news for this week, another big week yet a sad week in the Star Trek world.

Until next time, be good to each other.
