137 days to go until the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards are held, I am really looking forward to it, have been feeling inspired the last few days.

There has been a shake up in the Top 10 Most Watched Star Trek Fan Films list with the Renegades fan film and Star Trek: Of Gods and Men disappearing from YouTube, Renegades was #2 at the time of its disappearance, it is not permanently gone, it is just private so maybe we’ll see them back in the Top 10.

We’ve been keeping an eye on ‘Dream Time’ as it has charged up Potemkin Picture’s most viewed list, it has gained three positions since our last check, and it now sits in 24th position, it has recently reached 12,000 views on YouTube and there are two productions in the 12,000 range and five in the 13,000 range so ‘Dream Time’ can crack the Top 20.

While reading about the USS Ares ship files being made free to the public, the thought occurred to me that my illustration issues with ‘The Battle of Axanar’ could be solved because I previously made myself a Battle of Axanar version of Asteroids and I could use the art from it so now ‘The Battle of Axanar’ has illustrations though I got to say that pixels do make starships look like they got private parts on top.

The old comparison chestnut has been wheeled out by Alec Peters, seems like this sort of thing happened just a month or two ago, this time, the Axanar leader has compared Jonathan Lane and Matt Miller’s YouTube channels, this came after Matt made a short video on the latest events at Axanar.

Alec claims that half of Matt’s videos are attacks on Axanar, there are no 1,300 videos of Matt attacking Axanar.

It is also claimed that Matt has p**sed off every single film maker in the fan film community, that is also false as you’ll regularly see fan film makers give comments, likes and other nice emojis on Trekzone’s posts on Facebook and we wouldn’t have the Trekzone Fan Film Awards if everybody was p**sed off at Matt, but the third one will be on July 10 and those part of it will be very happy towards Matt (and me).

Alec wouldn’t dare comment on those fan film makers or do it on the Axanar FB page because the fan film makers like to largely stick together and the last thing he needs is for them to walk out on him.

Alec claims that Jonathan Lane has more subscribers because of positivity, people in the fan film community deserve to know if something is not right or doesn’t feel right in the fan film world, they deserve to know that groups like the Modern Mystery School are bankrolling a fan film like Axanar and you can read all about Modern Mystery School and what gives people the creeps about them here and here, also about those Lane subscribers most of those subscribers came in a three month period before flatlining.

This positivity angle is a reason why Jon Tessler isn’t getting his wish for ‘haters’ to directly confront Axanar supporters, because Alec etc. don’t want to go on Trekzone or RMB’s channel and face tough questions and potentially look like fools and they sure won’t let Matt etc. on to Jonathan Lane’s channel or even Axanar Confidential for the same fear, Alec etc. just wants to go on channels where nothing gets questioned, and everything gets praised.

It is likely that the use of the old comparison chestnut is to drag people away from talking about the Modern Mystery School and other Axanar issues like the $292,000 that Paramount and CBS got to decide on going to Georgia to claim etc.

Meanwhile, Neutral Zone Studios is having their Fan Appreciation Weekend and in the words of one YouTuber “All they ask is a $20 Donation!”, a sizable attendance is expected, will they give $20 each? Who knows.

That’s it for this week, light on released content but high on the wild social media ride that we’ve been watching for years, we’ll probably see the old chestnut again soon, it seems to be only a video away from happening.

Until next time, be good to each other.
