We have 109 days to go until the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards are here, earlier this week, we gave an update on the preparations for the event, everything is on track and creativity is pretty good at the moment.

‘Periphery’ was released by Potemkin Pictures earlier this week, the crew of the USS Webster find the USS Sagittarius adrift in space, the Sagittarius is a ship we’ll be seeing more of in the future, what is the ship doing adrift? tune in and find out.

‘Periphery’ has had a hot start on YouTube with 6,187 (at the time of writing) views recorded in under four days, Potemkin Pictures fan films have been doing well in recent months so expect this fan film to rise up Potemkin Pictures most watched order.

Check out this short fan film by Thunderfilms, it is of the NX-02 doing a flyby, it is always good to see people giving fan film making a shot.

We are just days away from seeing ‘Monster’ being released, this Loreley adventure is highly anticipated, and it will be considered for 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards honours as well as it has made it before the cutoff.

Congratulations to Star Trek: Horizon for reaching the 17 million views mark, it is by far the most watched Star Trek fan film in history, and it would take a lot of work by Axanar or Farragut Forward, the seemingly last of the big spenders to get close to it.

Speaking of Axanar, while the two fifteen-minute parts are heading towards release, Paramount and CBS have filed court documents in Georgia to get their $292,000+ California judgement from Axanar, while some think this is a corporation being mean, the two sides had a legally binding deal and it was broken and the Eye and the Mountain have the right to claim money, case closed.

That’s the news for this week, another interesting week in the fan film world.

Until next time, be good to each other.
