There are now 102 days to go until the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards are here for your enjoyment.
The cutoff date for fan films is April 10, and it has advanced on us quite quickly, everything is going according to plan, time is taken so nobody is mistakenly left out which can happen when you are looking over dozens of fan films.
Farragut Forward has done their final shoot and now it is down to postproduction, an update has been provided for those interested, this is a highly anticipated fan film, and it will be interesting to see how it does compared to Axanar when the latter is eventually released as both are big budget fan films with lofty aims.
‘Periphery’ has really had a great start on YouTube with a total of 9,444 views at the time of writing this edition of MTM Wrap, this was achieved in ten days and puts it at number thirty-eight on Potemkin Pictures most watched list with a stack of fan films in reach.
‘Yeager’ by Chris Lea has 14,855 views since it was released on March 5, another great total for the maker of all CGI fan films.
‘Defenders of the Federation’ has had 3,943 views since its release on March 16, it is doing quite well and we do love the uniqueness of this fan film, it has given us plenty to think about over the next few months.
‘Can’t Stop’ has 42,809 views on YouTube, it has slowed down in recent weeks but 42,000 is a great total and it should move to 43,000 in a couple of weeks.
There are a wide variety of fan film types this year, from fan films with classic styles to all CGI, all space, all planet, plenty of action, little action and all story, it is great that there isn’t a cookie cutter pattern to fan films.
Meanwhile Paramount’s quest to get money out of Alec Peters and Axanar is up to Docket #10, payment has been made for the case to proceed further, this was on the 28th of this month.
Meanwhile the battle between Alec Peters and Paul Jenkins is still at Docket #157 which was a leave of absence, by it looks like the special master is on a break since January.
That’s the news for this week, another great week in the fan film world.
Until next time, be good to each other.
Thank you! 👍
