Today, Phase One of the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards was completed, this phase involved fan films that were released between April 10, 2023, and April 10, 2024, being eligible for consideration in the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards.

Phase Two is to finish putting the 30+ fan films into lists about over the next month, they are short, and they are long, they are all live action and all CGI, they are ones with big casts and some with few people at all and more, they’re all good to look at.

Phase Three will be getting permission for nominations and then the purchasing of awards, these awards are paid for by Trekzone and MTM, there is always the possibility of friends deciding that they want to chip in, donations are not sought out and if there are requests to donate, only people who aren’t in fan films are accepted to keep things fair.

For those new to the Trekzone Fan Film Awards, there are no fees for consideration or nomination or if you win any of the three major awards the mailing of them, this is because we believe that since Fan Films cannot make money, we cannot make money off fan films or offset costs by asking for a fee, others do ask for one for purposes like the prize pool and that is their choice.

Phase Four is the awards show which is Matt’s domain as he knows what he is doing on camera etc.

That’s the game plan, it sounds really simple and compared to previous years, it should be as we learn a little more each year and make improvements and this is our third awards and things have never looked brighter.
