There are 67 days to go until the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards are here, we are six days away from Phase Two coming to a close.

It hasn’t been easy picking from the array of fan films that we get to choose from, we really hope that nobody gets offended if they don’t get a nomination or don’t get enough of them, some categories have eight or so good choices but there’s only room for four and then one, that’s how it goes unfortunately.

Here’s some really good news, FSFilm have ‘The Third Option’ coming up in a week’s time, this sounds really interesting, and we’ll be talking about it upon release.

Let’s check out some past fan film releases to see how they’re going.

‘Formication’ is from 386 views away from reaching the 5,000-view milestone, this is an interesting fan film, it can be considered gruesome in one scene, it was pretty well done and very thought provoking.

Just 232 views away from reaching 20,000 views is ‘Monster’, the king-sized fan film that has it all in fifty-six minutes of screen time, I wonder if the Loreley was named after the movie ‘The Loreley’s Grasp‘.

Meanwhile Whack-A-Mole continues to be played CBS, Paramount and Axanar, the third attempt to show off The Icarus Manoeuvre was quickly knocked down and a fourth attempt on Patreon will probably be knocked down soon too, each knock down is undoubtedly pushing The Icarus Manoeuvre further down the depths of YouTube etc. where it may have to live anonymously to avoid being knocked down.

That’s the news and views for this week, another fine and interesting week in the Star Trek Fan Film world.

Until next time, be good to each other.
