This month we completed the nomination phase of the awards, this involved taking the 32 fan films on our two lists and selecting four nominations for each category and the list was handed off to Matt.

Now that is complete, Matt will go over it and then he contacts the fan films that have been nominated and will ask for their permission and when that is granted, we can finalize the categories and go on the next stage which is selecting the winners, we got plenty of time to do it, so we do it right.

We have seventeen categories this year, we choose the nominees and winners for sixteen of them, the seventeenth is ‘Most Popular Fan Film‘ and all thirty-two fan films will put into the one poll on the MTM group, and we let the people decide what they think is the most popular one from the list is.

This week is when costs start to come into the awards, right now it hasn’t cost us anything but that changes when we start buying up the awards and items that we need, the awards is not a money making or money recouping exercise, we lose 100% of the money we spend and we’re fine with losing money.

For those who don’t know, we believe that since fan films cannot make or recoup any money, we cannot ask for money because we’d be making money off fan films and that just wouldn’t be right.

So, we’ve got nominations to be signed off on, a script to work on as the show will need one of those, awards to buy, addresses to get etc. before the big day on July 10 but it will be done all nice and neatly.

We’ve got some ideas floating around that we may use, we want to make things interesting, make them exciting but we also got to keep in mind running time, costs and the amount of time needed to make additions happen.

That’s it for this month, we’ll be back next month with a new status report.

Until next time, be good to each other.
