We are now just four days away from The 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards and I am looking very much forward to seeing what will happen, the video link above is where the action is going to happen at 6am AEST on Wednesday, July 10.
Our poll for Most Popular Fan Film has received 350 votes at this time of writing, which is a bigger turnout than we had expected, a lot of love for A Fighting Chance: Roaring Thunder, Can’t Stop and Empyrean while there has been a surprising lack of votes for a couple of fan films that have been highly touted, Defenders of the Federation is one example.
Trekzone is now in control of the awards, MTM’s job is done until the wrap up of the event so it is all up to Matt to dazzle viewers on Wednesday morning which he most certainly will as this is our best awards yet.
After the awards are done, we kick back and wait for December 31st and that is when The Best of 2024 List’ is published, winners of the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards whose fan films are 2024 made will likely keep their spots, if they were made in 2023, the spots are vacated and a fan film from 2024 gets a shot at glory.
As we had last week off to attend to Stock Car matters, we had to miss reporting that the fan film Dell’Amore e dell’Onore was released and you can watch it in all its Italian spoken glory complete with subtitles, it is good to see fan films being made across the world.
It is perfectly fine to have a fan film in a language other than English just don’t forget to add subtitles, Australians are used to subtitled fan films because we grew up watching the station SBS and it had a lot of non-English movies and TV shows that had subtitles.
Meanwhile CBS and Paramount’s arbitration win against Axanar was approved in Georgia, this means that CBS and Paramount can collect their awarded $292,000 from Axanar if it wishes to do so.
Axanar’s feelings towards Loeb & Loeb are made very clear in this post about Paramount’s troubles.
118 views is currently the gap between ‘Can’t Stop’ and the 50,000-view milestone, it has gotten a move on in recent weeks and hopefully next week will be the week that we get to report that it reached 50,000 views.
Those who have been following the progress of Potemkin Pictures will be pleased to know that ‘Periphery’ and ‘Dream Time’ are #11 and #13 on Potemkin Pictures’ all time watched list on YouTube.
‘Periphery’ is under 2000 views away from cracking the Top 10, #10 is currently held by ‘Room Service’ and ‘Dream Time’ is just a few hundred views away from moving into the twelfth spot on the list.
That’s the news for this week, thank you for coming by and getting your fan film news from here.
Until next time, be good to each other.
