There are 143 days to go until The Best of 2024 List is published, we’re slowly getting there and before too long, we will be there.
Three packages have left Australia and are on their way to recipients, we hope that they are enjoyed once they arrive, their arrival will wrap up The 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards and while it was a little bumpy in parts, it was a good journey.
Plans for 2025 are not decided yet, I am happy to run the gauntlet for a fourth time, but it is all up to Matt and what he wants to do, his work takes him interstate a lot and that chews up a lot of days of the week especially if time is tight in the lead up to the awards.
One idea is that I could host the show but aside from being an enthusiastic YouTuber back in the day, I don’t have the looks, I definitely don’t have the voice for the job and visuals will be lowered, we would be ridiculed and would make past years’ problems a minor event but if that is what is required, then that is what will be done.
Regardless, we seem to have a winning formula at the moment in terms of eyeballs watching what we’re doing.
There is Star Trek Day coming up and there’s still a question mark on how to fill that day, The Top 10 idea is still the best one available, well there is a couple of Top 10 ideas that can be used really just got to pick one and get it out there.
Now to some news.
Chris Lea has released a new video; it may only go for a minute and twenty-five seconds but personally I’ll happily watch any of the videos and you will probably watch it too.
Potemkin Pictures recently celebrated its 14th birthday; they’ll be pleased to know that ‘Periphery’ is just 28 views away from cracking Potemkin Pictures Top 10 most watched list.
It looks like we will have a new #2 most watched Star Trek fan film of all time, 4,566 views are currently the gap between Prelude to Axanar and Star Trek: First Frontier, never thought it would be possible but here we are, maybe the Star Trek name brings the latter the attention.
‘The Third Option’ did make it to 1,500 views, this fan film can get a lot more than that especially if the FSFilm team promotes it as hard they promoted the fan film vote earlier this year, that strategy paid dividends, and it could work again.
That’s the news and views of this week.
Until next time, be good to each other.
