There are 59 days to go until The Best of 2024 List is published, lots to think about this year in terms of what fan films go in which category.
It has been a quiet couple of weeks in our area of the fan film landscape and that is not a bad thing as it is good to have a break and do other things, it helps keep the mind fresh but in all seriousness the world slows down a bit from October to get ready for a new year.
Farragut Forward is closing in on 90,000 views, it recently passed 89,000 so it should hit the 90,000 milestone within the next couple of days, fan films over 100,000 views have not been a common occurrence so another fan film joining the club will be good.
‘Slingshot’ recently hit the 9,000-view milestone and is now on its way to 10,000 views, it is now in a sea of eleven Potemkin Pictures fan films that have a total of views between 9,000 and 10,000 views.
Periphery is now Potemkin Pictures fifth most watched fan film, it recently passed ‘Confrontations‘ and now is on a journey to catch up to and pass ‘War Targ‘ for fourth.
Robert McConnell who made What If: The Romulans Escaped the Balance of Terror has made some great videos over the last year, take for example Refugees that was released just under two weeks ago, it has over 4,000 views and 200 thumbs up ratings.
Morning Star is now a Fan Audio Series, here is the first episode titled ‘The Errand of Duplicity’, it has a running time of just over 37 minutes, as many people know fan audio productions don’t have guidelines though there’s no guarantee it will stay that way forever.
The 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards is approaching 350 views, still quite proud of this production, I did make a goof or two putting things together but there are no monsters hiding under my bed regarding them and looking forward to the 2025 edition.
That’s the news and views for this week.
Until next time, be good to each other.
