159 days to go until The 2025 Trekzone Fan Film Awards are here.
It has been a while since we’ve been here, a long break was needed after a successful 2024, the summer heat has also been energy sapping these last few weeks.
There are a few constants in the world, a new fan film by Potemkin Pictures is one of them, it is called ‘Thicker Than Water’ and it is the Webster’s time to shine in this one.
‘Thicker Than Water’ takes up almost all of its guideline of 30 minutes so make sure you set aside a half hour to watch the action.
Another constant is a fan film by Chris Lea, this one is called ‘The Seventh Fleet’, it runs for just over four minutes so for those who have a spare five minutes, it is a perfect use of time.
The latest from Rob Betz is a preview of the Constitution Class Refit, it is not the finished product so don’t judge it hastily, always a big fan of those who get to make ships etc. as the amount of effort must be immense as well as the amount of patience making sure everything is the right size and shape.
Long awaited fan film Axanar is now set for a Summer 2025 release, the Chinese Democracy or Duke Nukem Forever of fan films is still on its way, MTM tips it will be released, what reaction it will get is unknown, will Paramount or CBS take any action? who knows but what we do know is that the wait continues.
MTM watched Section 31 tonight, it was pleasant enough viewing, it wasn’t mind blowing but not boring, the fighting scenes were shot too fast and shooting flames are still the norm for the current Star Trek big screen/tv screen creators which was annoying but overall, it was a nice Saturday night on the bean bag.
That’s the news for this week.
Until next time, be good to each other.
