The last couple of years have taught us all something valuable, it pays to be nasty heck it can even get you the job of a President or Prime Minister of some country, somewhere as it is now in fashion to call people incompetent, losers and maniacs etc.

Take a look around the internet and you see people doing podcasts to kick around a show that they think is going the wrong direction.

‘Discovery is an abomination’, ‘Roddenberry would be rolling in his grave’ etc., how on earth does anybody know the latter? Did a medium tell them?

We’ve come to a point where we now start to ‘hate’ things before they even get out of the gate take for example Starfleet Academy, there’s already hate for that, we have no complete idea what it will be about, but it seems that we have to hate it as it appears to have ‘woke’ things and DEI things and anything else said by influential people, few people wouldn’t have known about DEI until recently and now people say like like Patty and Selma was saying ‘Monorail’ in The Simpsons.

When a show or a movie comes out, people spend hours kicking it around, remember the time people were going off about a Tardigrade in Discovery? going on and on about a toy of it being brown when it appeared blue on screen, yet it was the blue spores making it appear blue, so the toy makers were correct in the first place?

Then there were fans who got a guy to sue CBS/Paramount because he had a Tardigrade in his adventure game, and his worry was that he wouldn’t be allowed to make his game because he got convinced by people that Discovery was similar to the game and CBS/Paramount would kill off the game.

It seems to be a world sport to kick Alex Kurtzman, J. J. Abrams and the now late Roberto Orci around over Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond plus you can throw in Discovery, two of the three seasons of Picard and bits of Strange New Worlds and the new whipping movie Section 31 that has happened in the Kurtzman era, people seem happier with the animated Prodigy and Lower Decks.

In some circles, Star Trek’s hopes rest with Axanar, some hold out hope that CBS and Paramount would work with them in the future but let’s face it, CBS and Paramount would never pick somebody who takes pot shots at CBS and Paramount title holders and lawyers like they do in the link.

It isn’t just Star Trek that people are unhappy with Star Wars and Indiana Jones and a lot of other long-standing TV and Movie properties have not found widespread approval in recent years, people are unhappy with Motorsports like NASCAR, their stages, playoffs and saying that NASCAR died with Dale Earnhardt which is ridiculous.

It really does pay to be nasty and kick things around, probably why so many people try their hand at podcasts on YouTube etc. all hoping to be blessed by influencers and the media and led down a path of brief but certain riches.

Read comments about politics and life stuff and it is now ‘the left, the left, the left’ or ‘the right, the right, the right’, 99.99% of the world doesn’t know what left wing etc. is, they just follow the crowd, piling in to sink the boot into something.

Don’t go through podcasts and social media to pre-determine if you’re going to like something, keep an open mind just decide on a show your way after you’re done watching it and it’s perfectly fine to like a show when others do not or vice versa , it’s your opinion and it is worth the same as the person who doesn’t agree with you.
