There are 89 days to go until The 2025 Trekzone Fan Film Awards will be held, the buildup always gets so much better once we’re under 100 days to go, the nervousness creeps in a little but the work picks up a little too with each passing day.
The Fan Film cutoff date is May 10, that gives us a month to decide on nominations and a month to decide the winners and then Matt does the show and that’s it for the year not counting Fan Film Day on September 8 and the Best of 2025 List on New Years Eve.
Got The 2025 Trekzone Fan Film Awards document all set up ready for June 10 to put the fan film names in.
We have a teaser/trailer to consider, it is called ‘Constitution’ and it is from the team that brought us Starfleet Legends, it is one very attention-grabbing teaser/trailer, the right words, the right music, definitely something for us to think about leading to July 10.
Here is another Trailer that was released this week, Starbase One from Chris Lea, there’s no doubt about it, we’ve been given plenty of food for thought when it comes to teasers and trailers.
If you like the work of Rob Betz then you’ll like this three-minute video showing long looks at the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 complete with some nice music that goes together well with the video.
Now to check in on ‘Protector’s Toll’, the latest from Potemkin Pictures and it has received 2,600 views since its release two weeks ago, a solid result for the latest Starship Webster Creative Group production.
Has anybody noticed that increase of AI assisted Star Trek videos on YouTube, it is interesting to see what people tell a computer to come up with for them, but nothing will replace live action fan films or films and television for that matter.
Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova is on sale on Steam, it cost $3.49 Australian so it would probably be a lot less in the United States, the saving was 95%, I’ve got the game on the PS5 but got stuck on a split screen level and gave up in frustration, maybe I’ll have better luck on the PC.
That’s all the news and views for this week, a good week overall, just the way we like it to be.
Until next time, be good to each other.
