There are 186 days to go until The 2026 Trekzone Fan Film Awards take place, it is so very far away but it will come along quite quickly, it always does.
Just a few days ago we released ‘Trekzone and MTM’s Best of 2025 List‘ and it was a great success; everything went nice and smoothly, selections were made right up to during December 31, we wanted to be absolutely, positively sure that in the pool of possible selections, there was only one choice for each category.
The beauty of the 2025 list is that it is good practice for the Trekzone Fan Film Awards, the 2026 edition of the awards will be our fifth awards show and it probably will be our last one as business and growing hobby interests have been keeping us busier than we would like, we also think that five is a great number to stop at, but who knows because if the awards goes as good as 2025 had then 2027 may be very appealing.
We’re very happy that people were very happy with the list, there was no suck ups, no participation awards just plain, simple, logical picks.
Fan film releases continued right up to the last day of the year, ‘Monstrosity’ was released and it is the latest from Matthew Lee Blackburn who has a great reputation for releasing good quality fan films.
Approaching 5,000 YouTube views is Star Trek: Venture’s latest fan film ‘The Last Charge of the Thunderchild’
Don’t forget to give Constitution’s first fan film ‘Übergänge’ a watch or two sometime, the fan film runs for 20 minutes, and it nicely wraps up Starfleet Legends Act I, II and III to smooth the path for further adventures.
Passing 5,000 YouTube views recently was ‘Into the Wild’ this was achieved in about two weeks; congratulations go out to the cast and the crew of the production.
One fan film that is approaching the 10,000 YouTube views milestone is “The Kinda Terrible, Really Horrible, Sorta Good Week”, The Starship Webster Creative Group production is just 522 views away from reaching it.
In what may be considered strange by some, a funeral was held for Star Trek just over two weeks ago, and it lasted eight and a half hours, no doubt this is due to the approaching arrival of Starfleet Academy.
Brace yourselves folks for a steady stream of people saying, ‘It’s Not Real Star Trek’, ‘Gene will be turning in his grave’ and all other classic hits performed regularly since 2001 like the smash hit ‘When Trek Was Trek’, some people will be making some coin over the coming weeks, it pays to rage.
That’s all the news and views for this edition of MTM Wrap, the first of hopefully 26 for 2026.
Until next time, be good to each other.
