The month of May is coming towards a close and the action is ramping up.

We’ve been working harder on the 2023 Trekzone Fan Film Awards this last week, the awards are a thirteen-month journey, but the last two months is when all the cards are being put on the table.

We gave FSFilm a scare when their fan films didn’t get a mention on Trekzone’s reading of the fan film lists, they were accidentally left out of the short and long fan film lists but they were on the combined list that wasn’t read out, so they were being considered for awards the whole time.

It was bound to happen, when you got a 50+ fan film list, there’s the possibility of totally forgetting to list some on the split lists especially if your memory is as good as a goldfish, this is why we gave ourselves two weeks to iron out any issues.

As of writing, 11 categories out of 19 have the nomination process completed, by the end of the month all 19 will be done and Matt will be then contacting fan film groups for their OK so we don’t get another Interlude situation when Jonathan Lane rejected nomination and wrote a big blog entry about it, it caused a bunch of headaches, nobody wants to go through that situation again.

Don’t forget that Star Trek: Resurgence is out now for gamers to have a go at playing, thoughts about this game are currently positive but time will tell if that reputation holds or not.

Strange New Worlds will be out on June 15, that is something to look forward to especially after watching the trailer, people will either love it or hate it but that is democracy just remember to let people enjoy it and let people not enjoy it.

That’s the news for this week, an exciting week and the fun is only going to pick up from here.

Until next time, be good to each other.
