Welcome to the last MTM Wrap for October 2023.
There are 64 days to go before Trekzone and MTM release the ‘Best of 2023’ list, the days are going by rather quickly but that is good news because it is always exciting to have some fun and it is hard to keep a lid on it for so long.
It has been a fairly quiet week in the fan film world, at least when it comes to the fan film makers that MTM likes to pay attention to but there is some good news this week.
Chris Lea has released a new trailer, it is called ‘Indiana’, you got to love the amount of fan films that Chris releases and they all offer something new, Chris has gone pretty deep into Star Trek history to make this one and it will be quite interesting to see the full show.
‘Wardens of Time’ has passed 2,500 views for those who are interested in the film’s progress, it has passed ‘The Day The Federation Stood Still‘ and that particular fan film recently passed 2,000 views.
‘Prime Directive’ is now 210 views away from the 10,000 milestone, it is difficult to predict when it will reach five figures, but it should be before the year is out which would be cool to celebrate as the end of the year of course is festive and one more reason is always good.
Earlier this week, I thought about and wrote about my fan films from the 00’s, it was nice to dig them back up and it got me thinking about my version of Axanar and also one about a ship whose duties are so routine, they experience nothing like an Enterprise, a Voyager or a Defiant experience on their voyages, will they be turned into a fan film? anything is possible, the technology is out there, mastering it is the challenge.
One of the weirdest things going on in the fan film world at the moment is the interest in people’s occupations, here is an example, the fella in charge of future fan film Axanar regularly compared the occupation of Axanar’s fans with those who are members of AxaMonitor and it appears that interest in occupations still remain among Axanar’s fans.
Unless an occupation is something that is a danger to other people, who cares about it, going on about occupations is just to get people riled up and drag them away from other topics and it seems to work every time.
That’s the news and views for this week, another week is in the books, I look forward to seeing you next week to kick off MTM Wrap in November.
Until next time, be good to each other.
The fact that looking up people on LinkedIn has cause such a large amount of crying is hilarious. As a public platform ANYONE can look up anybody unless you make your profile Private. You would be amazed at the number of former navy friends I have looked up on there. Hell I looked up “a haters” profile, and they cry about it. If you don’t want your information out on the Web, don’t make a profile. But don’t cry when people look you up.
I know for a fact that people in the “anti Axanar” crowd how looked up “pro” Axanar supporters information, I also know they have tried to get people fired from their jobs. So neither side is blameless in this.
I don’t care if people know what I do, nor do I throw a fit if they look me up, that is part of doing life in the social media age. Heck the “anti Axanar crowd” used to snoop my Facebook profile all the time….I never complained about it, I simply changed my settings.
Heck if anyone has a problem with me, I am not hard to find, come talk to me, don’t be a coward and make threats over the internet.

Looking up former navy friends to see how they’re doing on LinkedIn is a lot different to looking up somebody you don’t particularly like, it only takes one idiot to do the same kind of move and try to get somebody fired again.
There’s no benefit for anybody looking at people’s jobs or forming opinions based on their occupation, the amount of elitism all over the place is very disturbing.
I think you’ll find there are very few people who are ‘Anti-Axanar’ but there are plenty of people who are ‘Anti-Alec Peters’ and there’s plenty of reasons not to like the guy, some of them have tens of thousands of reasons.
I think both Anti and Pro posts are 90% personal and 10% talking factual stuff, you can go to TRTAA and see people say so and so is a x, y and z and you can go to AxaMonitor and people say that person at TRTAA is a x, y and z and the story is the same when vice versa.
It is easier to say that something is a lie than going out and proving why that something is a lie.
Private lives are happier lives in the online world, the less people know, the more enjoyable life is, you only have to put up with speculation, regardless there is an off button to tune people out.

I have no feelings for Tara one way or the other. the fact is she COULD have simply done what Jon Lanes wife did or Shawn O’Halloran’s wife did, and simply not get involved. no matter what she says, she is NOT a victim. and the fact that she has claimed “i am a public person” on multiple occasions, means she should expect for people to search for her on public websites.
