I have been feeling creative these opening weeks of the year and so I decided to create ‘Chuck’s Musings’ as a way to let out some thoughts.

DISCOVERY

I was seeing Discovery getting bagged relentlessly on X this weekend and I don’t see the point of it all.

People call shows an ‘abomination’, hundreds of people give a show their best efforts and it is impossible to come up with something that will please every human and people just like to go and kick it around.

If you don’t like Discovery, that’s fine, if you don’t like one or more Star Trek shows or movies, that’s fine too, you can like all, many or few as you like but you shouldn’t make somebody’s life miserable because you don’t like something, and they like it.

AXANAR

The good news is that there is apparently one shoot left, the bad news is that all the legal stuff will be going on for a while, both sides really have to stop commenting on things, it will only lead to mutually assured destruction.

Even if Alec wins against Paul, anything gained may be taken away because Paramount is seeking the right to collect just over $290,000 from Alec for breaking the agreement that he had with them.

It is not a case of a corporation being bad to a little guy, they made a legally binding deal and Alec reneged on parts of it and so Paramount has the right to ask to collect.

Then again, maybe the people at ‘Modern Mystery School’ will pick up the tab just like they picked up the tab for Axanar to be completed.

Sock Accounts

I had enough of these accounts last night, I had this person ‘Joseph Daniher’ being an annoyance, the funny thing is whoever made it, made a new account and decided to just join Trekzone, MTM and AxaMonitor, this account had absolutely nothing in it and it was obvious it was somebody trying to be funny or maybe trying to get some loving from certain individuals out there.

Some people make them so they can go where they are blocked from and keep informed of events, some do it just to make life difficult for group creators, admins and moderators.

It can lead to paranoia if an account is well built, because if somebody is stringing you along, can you be sure that there isn’t a stack of them in your pages and groups ready to cause trouble?

2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards

The countdown is on, we have 178 days to go until it is showtime, fan films are being put into two documents so two of the main awards can be determined with ease and then we go from there.

We’re doing things our own way, we’re not going to be open to every fan film, trust and faith was broken last year and forgive and forget will never happen so a bunch of fan films will not be considered.

I believe that we will have a nice variety of fan films in mix for the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards and it is going to be a fun journey, we’re improving with every edition of the awards, and we will continue to chase the perfect fan film awards and hope to catch excellence along the way.

The Battle of Axanar

I was bored last year and wrote a short Axanar story, it was my take of the UFP-Klingon conflict, and I went back to it last week and tidied some of the wordings up, have you ever written something and then months or years later gone back to it and gone ‘huh?’.

The story is missing visuals and I fired up the old Macromedia Flash 8 to try creating some visuals, but it looked really bad, but one can only do the best they can with the ability they’ve got.

I’ll give it another go; trying is the only way to improvement and they say it takes a lot of hours to get to improvement.

Conclusion

Well, that’s everything I can think of this week, will be back next week to give more thoughts on topics.

Until next time, be good to each other.
