There are 60 days to go until the 2024 Trekzone Fan Film Awards are here.
The nomination process was concluded on the 9th and soon permission will be asked for from the nominated fan film groups to have their fan film in the show, if anybody passes on nomination there will be alternate selections to keep things moving along.
We have just under two months to get a nice show ready for you, we have a lot to consider as we want to make the best show we can and give productions the best that we can, it all comes down to cost, we can’t make it too big and expensive, but we also can’t have it too small and cheap.
Potemkin Pictures have released a new fan film that was produced by the Starship Deimos Creative Group, it is called ‘Sleeping Dragon’ it has had a great start on YouTube with just over 1,500 views in under 22 hours.
‘Dream Time’ is just nine views away from moving into thirteenth spot on the all-time list for Potemkin Pictures, we started following this fan film a couple of months ago and just decided to stick with following its progress.
Coming up on Sunday May 12 at 7am AEST is the latest fan film from FSFilm, it is called ‘The Third Option’, hopefully this new fan film will be well received by people as much as ‘Can’t Stop’ has been received.
Speaking of ‘Can’t Stop’, it has received a boost in views as recently passed the 45,000 mark which is good news as it is now 4,833 views away from the 50,000 milestone and we really hope it can get there so it can be celebrated once again.
We will be doing an update on the viewing totals of the Top 10 all time watched Star Trek fan films, no changes are expected though some gaps are expected to be a little closer.
Remember fan film fans and makers, while some make fan films etc. for ‘the love of Star Trek’ there are limitations on how to profess that love such as don’t try and make a business out of Star Trek, keep to the guidelines, don’t agree to make an Axanar spin off story as it will likely be taken down and always be honest or the above may happen.
That’s the news and views for the week, thank you for joining us and we look forward to seeing you next week.
Until next time, be good to each other.
Thanks for sharing our release with your readers!
