The 2025 Trekzone Fan Film Awards were aired last Thursday, and it went pretty well for us, it was perhaps the smoothest of our four fan film awards held since 2022 and it will be the blueprint for future editions.
We’ve done quite well this year, the recap of the awards is just as good as last year, and the awards show is doing great as well.
The good news is that The 2026 Trekzone Fan Film Awards will be taking place on July 10, 2026, the green light was given during the airing of The 2025 Trekzone Fan Film Awards after seeing how good everything was going.
So, there are 363 days to go until The 2026 Trekzone Fan Film Awards, if previous years are anything to go by, those 363 days will go by fairly quickly.
All the categories are expected to return, hopefully we’ll see the Best Ground Fighting award make a return, we were close this year, but we were just short of enough nominations, another would be Best Christmas Fan Film, that category had a run in our first ‘Best of’ list and hopefully we get to give it another run.
Stay tuned.
New from Potemkin Pictures is ‘The Signal’, this new fan film was produced by the Starship Webster Creative Group, and it runs for twenty minutes and twenty-three seconds which puts it up for consideration in the Best Fan Film category for The 2026 Trekzone Fan Film Awards.
The synopsis of the fan film reads ‘While traversing a star desert between galactic arms, the Webster encounters an escape pod with a rather unique passenger with a most unusual tale, a story that portends doom for himself and the starship Webster.’
If the synopsis sounds like the fan film for you to have a watch of it, give it a try today, it currently has just over 1,600 views on YouTube.
That’s it for this week, another great week for us in the fan film world.
Until next time, be good to each other.
It was a great awards production, and preproduction from you mate — was fantastic to be allowed to do our thing finally.
