There are 300 days to go until The 2026 Trekzone Fan Film Awards are here and there are 111 days to go until we publish Trekzone and MTM’s Best of 2025 List.
Star Trek Day was celebrated last Monday and MTM and Trekzone had our second ‘Star Trek Day – Fan Film Style’ celebration and we had shown readers a nice range of fan films including a surprise that some may not have expected.
Starship Antyllus had their series finale today after thirty episodes, the series ends in a big way with this fan film clocking in at one hour and twenty-four minutes.
Coming soon from Matthew Lee Blackburn and team is the fan film ‘Monstrosity’, it looks very interesting so keep an eye out for the release of the fan film from the creator of Raiders of the Lost Trek, Undercover, Unfinished Business and many other fine productions.
‘A Game of Cat & Mouse’ is doing well, 60,000+ views well to be exact, a great and deserved number for a short fan film.
‘Night of the Hawk’ has on YouTube reached 2,000 views and is continuing on its way up, if you haven’t seen this fan film, give it a go.
This month/beginning of October should see the end of the long running Alec Peters vs. Paul Jenkins legal battle, this saga started in August 2020 when Alec sued Paul, Paul sued Alec in response, and the games began but now the case will finally make it to trial and a star-studded Axanar related cast is expected to be called upon to say what they need to say in relation to everything.
Those who haven’t tuned in to the long running series for a while have not missed much, a quick look shows that both AxaMonitor and The Real Truth About Axanar are doing a brisk trade at the moment with plenty of claims and thoughts made.
It looks like that one point of interest is the non-release of the documentary that Paul and others are working on regarding Axanar’s rocky road to completion, logic suggests that it isn’t out because 1. The court case hasn’t been run and done and yet 2. Axanar’s two 15-minute parts have not been released yet, it is just thoughts to rile people up.
It will come just like Axanar’s two 15 minutes will, how will they go? well it will either go poorly, it may be moderately successful, or it will be a successful fan film, only time will tell.
That’s everything for this week
Until next time, be good to each other.
Thank you very much for mentioning our Antyllus series finale! It’s been a labor of love since 2013… and I’m grateful for all the wonderful people who worked on my show and met along the way… Appreciate the shout-out and wish you all the best.
