After a couple of quiet days, Axanar and The Real Truth of Axanar had posts.
Axanar posted in bulk some more Captain’s Logs, there was nothing on SphinxCon but there was plenty on Propworx, friend visiting and travelling.
Axanar will be having a podcast released soon and it will be interesting to know what it will be about.
The Real Truth About Axanar had just the one post and it is about F**kfaces, the message basically says that somebody who doesn’t like you will find another person who doesn’t like you and it goes on and on but the thing is that nobody who doesn’t like you like each other.
Perhaps the message is saying that while people don’t like Axanar or Alec they don’t like each other.
AxaMonitor’s website posted about a fan made book called Star Trek: Shenzhou that is attracting attention for among other things its use of Star Trek characters which could upset CBS/Paramount.
The above (the story not AxaMonitor’s take on it) is also being discussed on Fan Film Forum.
AxaMonitor’s FB group is still on the same topics as before, it is still amazing how many projects end up being cut and runs.
Here’s a thought for readers, did fans used to throw money at fan productions solely because the project was Star Trek and never thought about who it was given to?
Meanwhile Trekzone is out of the Axanar discussion business but they did release a fan production ‘Once More With Feeling‘ and it is a unique production with the look of a radio play with some live action added combined with the action shots and sounds of a Star Trek series.
Overall things seem pretty pleasant at the moment so don’t worry about fighting like what was seen over SphinxCon.

Yes, that is actually what they did and its still what they are doing. Its why you see so many people latch on to established IP and try to make money off of it. Its easier to get people to donate to you if you are already using something that has made money rather than your own unproven creative work.

Funnily enough I never crowd funded for OMWF at all… I funded the entire $5,000 budget myself.

That’s why I donated originally. It was Trek and it looked good and that was it. I wish I had Googled Peters at the time and seen his track record in the prop world. If I had I probably would never have donated. The only other fan film I’ve donated to was Continues because of their proven track record.
That said, I’ll never donate via Kickstarter or Indiegogo ever again, even if it’s original IP. Both those platforms are complicit and violate their own terms and conditions by allowing fan film projects.
