Nineteen days to go.
I would be lying if I said I was feeling pretty good about things, the truth is that my anxiety is currently through the roof.
Things were getting better, recently we resolved the letter situation well the Trekzone Fan Film Awards section of it, the rest doesn’t seem to be about me, sleep was beginning to return to normal.
The Avalon films will be in the honour roll after the offer was made and it was accepted, also added is the fan film series that we missed, Vance seems OK with things and the other guy is not let in because he had said that Matt is a waste of DNA and that does not meet my standards of character and our rules still apply for this year.
Speaking of name calling in the fan film world, I am well aware that AxaMonitor and The Real Truth About Axanar are doing a brisk trade in it at the moment and telling people to cool it never works but people really should cool it, things only get worse in a rush.
What has heated up tensions recently is the Jonathan Lane using Paul’s signature/autograph for a release form debacle that stems from Alec Peters deposition (fourth file down) and some who supported us when the 19 fan film makers came with their requests are wondering if the same people who signed that letter will be going to Jonathan and request better standards from him or something.
I can’t tell people what to feel or what they can do in the end, all they can do is stuff like read the deposition and determine for themselves what to do about it or choose to ignore the deposition etc. and get on with things.
I’m really nervous about these next three weeks, I constantly fear a last-minute spanner in the works, I always dread waking up in the morning and looking at my iPad to see if I have received any bad news.
Matt is confident that things will be alright, we have a plan if things go a little pear shaped and even if they do go terribly pear shaped, a plan exists that will see us still able to carry out a great awards show.
Until next time, be good to each other.

From your vantage point, does it seem that there are any bridges left to burn in this hobby?
From mine, I would think not. It looks to me like there are 2 groups with no middle ground left, even to argue over: (1) a group of different creators still working on new films, with Mr Irwin and Mr Cocking very important in their efforts and (2) a group containing veterans from earlier films centered in Axamonitor who are very concerned about past events but who apparently are not interested in making new films.
I suppose the American legal system will eventually have something to say about Jenkins v. Peters but it will take time, of course.
From my vantage point, if you like fan films, it’s a no-brainer to cheer for the current film creators, and maybe help them a bit financially from time to time.
I fear there’s no healing of the personal disputes between the 2 groups I mentioned. The past is too much of an impediment.

Personally I want to get to July 10 and then see what happens next.
There’s plenty of bridges to walk across on, the situation looks bad but it’s really not, business is still good and will continue to be so.
Peters vs. Jenkins could be months or years from ending, it’s going to be a fight to the disastrous end because as you can tell Paul is a man of principle and he refuses to bow down and lick the boots of Alec Peters (and vice versa).
Healing of personal disputes? Possible in the future but for now probably not on the cards though I can’t speak for everybody.
