We are just days away from Axanar’s ‘The Gathering Storm’ being released, MTM tipped that it would be released when others expressed doubts that it would get there.

Whether it passes CBS’ rules for the production and gets to live a long life on YouTube, who knows, maybe they’ll let anything that goes against the settlement go through so the Axanar story ends at least until the documentary comes out.

Its premiere will be at the Digital Gym Cinema in San Diego which is a 1.5-mile journey from where San Diego Comic-Con is located which means unlike what some claimants say on YouTube, it is not at the same location.

The 2026 Trekzone Fan Film Awards has 186 reads; it is an increase of 2025’s total which is good for the fan films that we’ve talked about, the 2025 awards got a little boost from the 2026 awards as well.

‘The Best Laid Plains’ has almost delivered Potemkin Pictures YouTube channel another 5,000+ view video, it currently sits on 4,995 views and so that milestone will be achieved shortly if not by the time the majority of readers see this.

One Potemkin Pictures fan film that may crack its Top 10 most watched is ‘Polarization’, it is 1,403 views away from ‘The Old Guys’ which currently sits in that tenth position.

On the subject of views, Star Trek – Horizon still maintains top spot in the most watched Star Trek fan films, it has 19.1 million views, next up is Star Trek: Renegades with 16.60 million views and it is a bit of a drop down to Star Trek: First Frontier with 7.2 million views.

Prelude to Axanar is fourth with 6.22 million views, it was at 5.75 million on November 16, 2024, First Frontier was at 6 million at that same time so the margin between third and fourth has increased.

The order of the Top 10 appears to be the exact same as it was when it was last checked in November 2024.

Can Axanar’s ‘The Gathering Storm’ crack the Top 10? It is possible, it does have advantages compared to the rest, 100,000 subscribers and people will want to see the end result of years of lawsuits and trailers and changed plans, we shall see.

Farragut Forward recently reached 200,000 views on YouTube, it appears that after the guidelines were introduced, getting a fan film over 200,000 views is now elite company compared to the millions that fan films received before the guidelines.

It should be noted that most of the Top 10 were released when new or then current Star Trek TV series were not our TV screens and we got the Chris Pine starred movies every couple of years, personally I found those movies enjoyable, but TV shows are more satisfying than a 2-3 year wait for Star Trek.

That’s it for this edition of MTM Wrap, thank you for joining us in this edition.

Until next time, be good to each other.
