We’re just over a week away from Star Trek Day, we love Star Trek Day, it is just the perfect excuse to watch plenty of Star Trek though we really don’t need a particular day to go and do that.

We will be showing some fan films on September 8 as part of ‘Star Trek Day – Fan Film Style’ and we’ll save up fan films for that date instead of using them in this edition.

There was some good news, The 2026 Trekzone Fan Film Awards recorded its 200th read recently and we’re very happy with that, thank you to all those who have visited the awards post and enjoyed what was on offer.

It looks like The Gathering Storm will be making a comeback on September 1, whether it will stay up or will it be taken down again will be the question.

It is an interesting situation, if CBS and Paramount stick to the settlement agreement then it should be knocked down, Axanar feels that TPTB broke the settlement so they can do it too.

Perhaps TPTB feel that if they do take them down then some YouTubers will cause a ruckus though any ruckus will be way less potent than what it was back in the lawsuit days, many times less.

If TPTB let it slide and The Gathering Storm stays, then maybe fan films will get the feeling that CBS and Paramount don’t care about enforcing anything, they don’t seem very interested as a lot of fan films do go over guidelines, perhaps they only care if big money and pros are involved.

It is interesting that Axanar has been ramping up uploads of short videos in the last few days, shorts are a good way of getting interest up as people do have a short attention span and short videos do suit those sorts of people, they do seem to be advertisements for their new sites.

It is hard to know what CBS and Paramount will do; they did let Interlude slide and Daedalus and Icarus are on that website of Axanar’s when they were previously knocked down on YouTube, maybe they’ll let it go or put the clamps back on, who knows.

Maybe we’ll see notice, cure, notice, cure, notice, cure, arbitration, solution or just notice and cure until one side gets bored.

Interesting that Avast sometimes considers the beta and the VIP site to be a threat, a scam to be exact which is interesting and no this is not some made up AI thing, it really does happen, the site is fine one day and warning the next.

Recent developments with Axanar remind us of the Moving Pictures song ‘What About Me’, with Axanar doing the singing.
