Axacon is done and dusted for 2018.
After the OWC Studios tour, there was screenshots of pictures that were taken at the convention that got a lot of attention from Axamonitor’s FB group, the photos themselves were from the dealers room and not where all the panels were conducted and that fact was later pointed out.
If you do a search on Facebook for Axacon 2018 you will find a couple of dozen pictures taken by those whose accounts are public and also those who work on Axanar have posted pictures and even video on their pages if you feel the need to poke around.
No doubt Axanar and Fan Film Factor will have blog reports on the action from Axacon over the coming days and those reports would be looked at by supporters and everyone’s favourite word to describe a group ‘detractors’.
The next few months will tell the story of Axanar, the bridge looks good and people do like it and it has generated new interest in Axanar but now it is up to them to press forward, let their work do the talking, don’t say anything stupid and get to the finish line.
Lastly, Jon M Tessler left a comment on our previous blog entry detailing his time at OWC Studios, the full comment is below for anyone who wants to read his observations and we thank him for posting.
Went back to the studio, got introduced to a lot of the crew that worked on the bridge set over the last year. Yep the monitors are in and for the most part working(PC hardware issue on one bank of them, easy fix). Yes the 40 inch TV’s are all installed “up top”.
The set looks AMAZING. The Plexi console stations are in place and lit up from below. There is a bit of finishing things to do(but coming forward from the open house last year) you can see exactly how much work got accomplished.
Of course some information was shared with those in attendance (that I can not divulge), so after everyone was at the studio for about 5 hours(way longer than the 2 hours that was planned) a bunch of us went out to dinner, and that was it for the first day.
