COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of San Diego Comic Con therefore scuttling Axanar’s hopes for a premiere in the city of San Diego while there is a horde of Sci-Fi fans nearby at SDCC.
DragonCon is still a possibility this year otherwise a big premiere may have to wait until late 2020 or even 2021.
The Axanar trailer has finally been released on its own and the review on it is unchanged as the cuts are really annoying, one example is that there are four fade in/fade outs in first six seconds of the trailer.
Meanwhile Axanar’s fundraiser is edging towards $10,000 of its $30,000 goal in what should be the last fundraiser it needs to get done and pushed out the door.
YouTube viewers in the last week had the choice of The Weekend Brunch with Axanar, Axanar Confidential, Two Geek Girls, Trek After Dark, Axanar After Dark and The Morning Trek.
The other news is that the fan film Squadron is doing something in the future with Axanar/Ares Studios, this has people in two minds as you have some who are excited at such a prospect and others are disappointed they’ve chosen Axanar/Ares Studios and cite questionable activities by Axanar Productions/Ares Studios as the reasons of disappointment.
So that’s some of the action that has taken place in the last week.
Until next time, be good to each other.
Isn’t there an additional fundraiser for the Axanar shorts that would be directed toward VFX? I may have lost track of the story but I recall another one beyond filming the actors.

I really hope there is not another fundraiser because it would be nice if Axanar is pushed out the door and into the history books as a fan production that Happy Gilmore’d its way through production instead of just tapping it in.
